Corrie Leu Captures
Corrie was one of the first clients that I had that completely trusted me with her business. We had worked together during Le Mode, so we knew how to communicate and get our ideas across to each other, but in this case she trusted me to take a basic set of ideas that she had, and run with them as I saw fit, completely personifying her business for her. She knew for sure that she wanted a light, whimsical tone, to really communicate her down-to-earth energy, and her focus in being able to reach her clients on a friendly, personal level. She also knew that she wanted to heavily use succulents as her main visual feature, as they symbolize enduring and timeless love, and her main clientele are families and couples. I immediately thought of using muted, pastel colors reminiscent of the desert, complementing the use of the succulent imagery, and I knew that in terms of font, a combination of slender formality and a touch of fun would go great with what we had so far. For a pop of color I chose a bright mustard yellow to really draw attention without having too bold a color distract the viewer from her content. The rest of the branding process from that point was actually relatively simple, as she wanted very little visual clutter on her website and documents, allowing for her work to take center stage when being viewed online. In it's beautiful simplicity, I still find branding Corrie Leu Captures to be one of my favorite projects.
